My Experience

Education

In 2022, I graduated from the BSc Philosophy and Economics at the London School of Economics.

I am very interested in the broad uses of design thinking to stimulate both innovation and problem solving, and I was able to delve deeper into this in 2021, when I completed the Foundations in Design Thinking certification with IDEO-U.

I was able to partake in the SUMMER@INSEAD business programme, where we participated in the First 100 Days business simulation. In my role as CEO, I led my team through the growing pains of acquiring a failing business and revamping it, all while learning from the INSEAD faculty.

My On-Campus Experience

I have also worked for LSE’s Digital Skills Lab (DSL) as a Microsoft Office and HTML training advisor since 2019. The classes I teach mainly cover Excel, including data analysis, macros and VBA. My role also includes marketing and communications: writing marketing posts and course introductions, working on website layout and working on the DSL newsletter. I received special recognition two years in a row for my outstanding work and for my help in the transition to online teaching during COVID.

As Head of Forum for the Sports Business Society, I led the organisation of an award-winning 2-day sports business conference, comprised of 18 individual events including panel discussions, Q&A sessions and workshops with industry leaders. In the 7 months leading up to the summit, my team:

  • Created an entire framework for the conference (theme, logos, posters, discussion and workshop topics, overview presentations etc.)
  • Contacted professionals from wide-ranging sectors within the industry
  • Created marketing and communication content, both for the speakers and the attendees
  • Created and managed an application process for the attendees and successfully led the conference
  • This hard work earned us Best Student Led Conference at the LSE Student’s Union awards.

As Events Officer for RAG (Raising and Giving, LSE’s charity branch), I personally raised over 6000£ for our designated charities by organising a university-wide game show, bucket collecting in London’s tube stations and organising bake sales on the LSE campus. I also summited Mt Kilimanjaro to raise awareness for Hope for Children. Additionally, my role was to organise LSE’s fresher’s week and make the incoming students feel comfortable and excited.

My Off-Campus Experience

Writing has played a big role in my experience, both related to my degree and my jobs. I also love creative writing, and have won 2 Gold Key Awards and 2 Honourable Mentions in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.

Working as a hostess at Wallacespace, an executive meeting centre, was a great way for me to learn first-hand about the importance of the customer experience. My role was to ensure that the client had the most personalised and seamless experience possible.

My internship at spot on minds gave me a first insight into the professional world. In my time there, I not only learned about the luxury fashion sector and executive recruitment, but I was able to take the lead on my own project: I created sustainability guidelines for the office to follow, in order to minimise the environmental footprint of the company.
